Dehalogenase and other similar enzymes specifically from the microbial origin are responsible to degrade the halogenated organic compounds. The organo-halide compounds are among the largest group of environmental chemicals, which are mostly toxic in nature. Recently the  molecular analysis of these enzymes  have proven to be a valuable aid in understanding the molecular aspects of dehalogenation. However there is no specific data base available to these enzymes. Here, we have built a specialized  curated relational database and a search tool for dehalogenase and other allied enzymes. Currently it contains all total 181 entries. A menu driven search engine allows the user to retrieve stored information for each enzyme, that include the name, reaction mechanism, E.C number (if any), structural information (if available in PDB), toxicity profile of the substrate as well as the refrences, the detailed catalytic mechanism that is  linked to the major metabolic pathway data base.
